Partner Peter Linett and senior associate Sarah Lee will be in Los Angeles later this month for the American Association of Museums meeting. Linett will give a talk on museums in a postmodern world at the Museum Group’s annual side conference.
If you’re a museum professional and will be attending the annual meeting of the American Association of Museums from May 23–26, let us know. We look forward to conversations and coffee with colleagues new and old.
"We don’t do an exhibition booth,” notes partner Peter Linett, “but we always enjoy meeting museum people and talking about the field. And especially about visitors and what we're learning about them.”
Linett will be co-leading one of the Museum Group’s “conversations,” a symposium-like gathering of senior museum professionals to discuss big-picture themes in the profession. Linett will share the session with Elaine Gurian, whose book of essays, Civilizing the Museum, was reviewed by Linett in Curator: The Museum Journal in 2006.
(If you’re an emerging or established museum professional interested in attending the Museum Group conversations, email us for more information.)
Sarah Lee, a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago and senior associate for museums at Slover Linett, looks forward to reconnecting with clients and colleagues at the conference, particularly in the CARE (Committee on Audience Research and Evaluation) community. “I haven’t been to LA in a long while,” Lee says. “I can’t wait to revisit some museums that made a big impression on me on previous trips, starting with the Getty.”
Linett and Lee will attend the conference from Sunday, May 23 through Wednesday morning, May 26.
